new Triarch lighting

Today we're hanging new fixtures from Triarch International Lighting. This is a really neat line, with lots of unique offerings. Here's a sampling of what we just added to the Chantilly showroom:

These arms are wrapped in leather, the bobeches are clear cystal, and it's made in the USA! (we don't see that tag line often enough these days, in my opinion)

I love the finish on this piece ~ it's a darker antique nickel, which is richer than the more common brushed nickels we see on a lot of things.

I love pieces that have the iron arms with just a bit of crystal, like this one.

This piece reminds me of the DC area after an ice storm ~ the arms are coated with an icy looking crystal, just like the trees around here look during some of our winters!

Home & Design Designers' Choice award

I am proud to announce that Dominion Electric Supply has been named as the "Designers' Choice" for Lighting Dealer by Home & Design magazine!

They say this award is the result of voting by area designers and architects on their top picks for everything from kitchen cabinetry and counter tops to top design professionals and service providers. Dominion Electric Supply is the winner in the Lighting Dealer category.

I found it especially interesting that 3 of the partners from my "Team Solutions" networking group were winners in their cagegories: Integrated Media Systems for Home Theater, Charles Luck for Surface Showroom, and us. It's an honor to be in such good company!

new Quoizel and World Imports

Hello! It feels like ages since I've posted anything ~ I don't know WHERE the time goes!!! But I wanted to share some pictures of some of the new fixtures we've been hanging in the showroom. Today will just be a teaser ~ these are just Quoizel & World Imports ~ and we also have some fabulous new Artcraft. Then our warehouse manager just notified us that our new Triarch is in, too, so there's even more new & exciting stuff to come! Check back here, and I'll hope to have a sampling of all of them up soon.

This is Quoizel ~ love the LONG shade!

This is also Quoizel. You know I love my drum shades ~ doesn't the crystal column add wonderful detail to this one?

Just to show we DO have variety, this World Imports chandelier is NOT a drum shade, but still gorgeous!!!

This is also World Import. Isn't it nice to see the candles/arms along with the drum shade?

CSL (Creative Systems Lighting)

Happy Thursday! I'm heading out of town for a few days, for my second half-marathon (this one's in the Outer Banks), so I wanted to post a bit before I leave. First of all, our Veterans' Day Sale started today and runs through next Saturday the 14th. Our ad is in the new Local Living section of the Washington Post (page 10) ~ 15% off all in-stock lighting and accessories (excludes fans). Mention the blog and you'll also get a free gift with a purchase of $200 or more!

Next I wanted to tell you about a great training we had this morning with Ryan Fisher from CSL ~ Creative Systems Lighting. He had all sorts of fabulous LED products to show us ~ some are so new, we're one of the first to see his prototypes. Here are the pictures I took:

I know this looks like a bit of a mess, but can you see that recessed light in the back left? That's their new LED 3-3/4" recessed light that will be available in February. This will be the brightest, smallest LED recessed light on the market, and it is gorgeous! And as bright as an MR16! Amazing!

That's Ryan Fisher in the back, and Debbie Fortney, Amanda Leonard, & Cathleen Smith also in the shot.

Cathleen & Amanda again, plus Laura Gerber who used to work here but now works for Sagatov Builders, plus Erin Schwartz and Liz Iacone, our CSL rep.

And now here is some of CSL's literature. The recessed light is not yet available, so no literature yet, but his other products are equally fabulous, and we'll have samples on display very soon.
